Once......was I trapped in a dark void, alone, The distant voices of so many calling out to me. But I could not, nay, would not hear them And desired from them only sympathy.Once...
...emotion was slaughtered without remorse, For it bore upon it the mark of weakness. Replacing it instead with a sturdy husk: Nearly impenetrable, yet completely hollow inside.
...searing tears did stain these cheeks, So hot they etched a valley through the flesh, And razor-sharp steel nearly allowed me To let these crimson rivers flow freely.
